The Best Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries
If I had to live off of one food for the rest of my life, it might be these sweet potato fries. And the best thing? If you have an oven, you can make these too - no fancy equipment needed! What is the secret, you might be wondering? White Sweet potatoes, aka Japanese sweet potatoes. While you can use regular orange sweet potatoes, for whatever reason, this variety of potato crisps up perfectly in the oven and also maintains its crispness well after being baked. This is a must try recipe that will likely remain a staple in your kitchen for years to come!
I hope you enjoy this recipe!
INGREDIENTS
4 Orange or Japanese (White) Sweet Potatoes
2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
sea salt
unbleached parchment paper + metal baking sheet
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 425F. Cut potatoes into "fries". You can make them however large or small you like, just try and keep them relatively the same size to help them bake evenly.
Melt coconut oil and toss with potatoes in a large mixing bowl until well coated.
Line a baking sheet with unbleached parchment paper. Line fries on the pan, ensuring that each fry is not touching another. This space between the fries helps them from getting soggy. Season with sea salt.
Bake fries for 30-35 minutes (less if your fries are smaller, more if your fries are bigger). Bake until the fries are starting to brown but are not burnt. Best when consumed immediately.
Serve with a grass-fed burger and lots of ketchup!
