Consuming adequate protein from a variety of animal based sources in the best place to begin. However, having a few protein supplements on hand can provide the extra boost that you need to support your health. Collagen and Gelatin are not complete proteins but provide a higher amount of anti-inflammatory amino acids (the building blocks of protein) that can keep your diet balanced. For this reason, collagen and gelatin do not make great post workout protein supplements unless paired with another animal based protein like dairy.
